Baraboo will host the Big Top Parade on June 13 to mark the United States’ 250th anniversary, with local veterans serving as Grand Marshals. The event is set to feature more than 75 parade entries, including marching bands, clowns, and community floats, drawing thousands of spectators to downtown Baraboo.

The parade’s theme this year is “Jubilee,” aligning with Circus World’s big top show. Nanci Jenks, co-chair of the Big Top Parade Committee, said, “Our parade is a patriotic spectacle every year, but we’re taking it up a notch for 2026. We couldn’t be happier to honor local veterans for their service to our country.”

Festivities will begin on Thursday, June 11 with Concerts on the Square featuring Professor Stich’s Original Circus Band. The Al. Ringling Theatre will present Charlie Chaplin’s “The Circus” with organ accompaniment on Friday night and a singalong screening of “The Greatest Showman” on Saturday night.

On parade day, entertainment before the main event will include performances by Forward! Marching Band, the UW Alumni Band, and Wild Rumpus Circus. At 11 a.m., Circus World’s collection of antique wagons will join the procession. The Ringling Brothers Bell Wagon—last year’s Best Overall Entry after returning from a decade-long absence—will again be featured.

George Althoff, Executive Director of the Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce, said his organization works with the Big Top Parade Committee to present this unique event. “We love showcasing Circus World’s unparalleled wagon collection in the parade,” Althoff said. “Once again we’ll hear the bells of freedom ring downtown.”

After the parade concludes, Circus World will offer its big top show at both 1:15 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Updates about the parade and related events can be found at bigtopparade.com.
