Baraboo offers a range of outdoor activities and dining experiences, according to a Mar. 19 announcement from the Baraboo Chamber of Commerce.

The area is known for attracting visitors who enjoy nature and adventure. Devil’s Lake State Park, described as the most popular state park in Wisconsin, draws hikers and climbers with its high bluffs and scenic views. The Baraboo River, now free-flowing after dam removals, provides opportunities for paddling along what is called the longest stretch of reclaimed riverway in the United States.

During winter months, Devil’s Head Resort in Merrimac transforms its golf course into a destination for skiers. This seasonal change allows outdoor enthusiasts to continue their activities throughout the year.

Baraboo also features several local businesses catering to different tastes. Driftless Glen Distillery pairs spirits with gourmet meals on the riverfront. Tumbled Rock Brewery and Balanced Rock Winery offer live music alongside their food and drinks near Devil’s Lake. For those seeking sweets, Sweets on Third serves shoppers in downtown Baraboo, while Baraboo Candy Company’s factory store sells chocolate treats known as Cow Pies.

The Chamber said that whether visitors are interested in outdoor sports or sampling local foods, they will find something to enjoy in Baraboo.
