FOIA Request to Village of North Freedom Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at SW Wisconsin News have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for records of new voter registrations that took place on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization, we believe in the importance of transparency and accountability in public institutions. Access to public records such as these is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We aim to inform the public about significant events and developments in their community, and access to this information aids us in achieving that goal.
We have requested these records preferably in an electronic format for ease of access and analysis. As part of our request, we have also asked for a fee waiver given our role as a media organization disseminating information to the public.
