FOIA Request Sent to Village Of Tennyson Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Village Of Tennyson in Wisconsin on November 7, 2024. The request was made by us at SW Wisconsin News, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

We requested records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., specifically seeking a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. We expressed our preference for receiving these records in an electronic format for ease of access and analysis.

As a news organization, we are committed to gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional. We have communicated this belief in our request and await the response from the Village Of Tennyson.

This request is part of our ongoing effort to ensure that local government operations remain transparent and accountable to the communities they serve. We will continue to keep you updated as we receive more information about this FOIA request.
