FOIA Request to Town of Waterloo Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at SW Wisconsin News have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered on November 5, 2024.
Our mission as a media organization is to gather and report news to the public, holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill these professional responsibilities.
We have requested these records preferably in electronic format and given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
We will continue to keep you updated as we seek more information about this important aspect of our democratic process.
