FOIA Request to Town of Forest Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at SW Wisconsin News have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Town of Forest. The request was made for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.
As an organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such records is essential for us. We believe that our role in disseminating information qualifies us for a fee waiver as media professionals.
We await the response from the Town of Forest and will continue our efforts in reporting news that matters most to our community.
