A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Town of Utica, Wisconsin, on November 7, 2024. The request, made by SW Wisconsin News, seeks information about new voter registrations that occurred on November 5, 2024.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at SW Wisconsin News are seeking access to these records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq. We have requested that the information be provided in an electronic format for ease of analysis and reporting.
Our goal is to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public. Access to public records such as these is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional.
