FOIA Request to Village Of South Wayne Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at SW Wisconsin News have formally requested records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., from the Village of South Wayne.
The request, which was sent on November 7, 2024, specifically seeks a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024. This information is crucial in our ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in local government affairs.
As part of our mission as a news organization, we believe in the importance of access to public records. It is through these records that we can fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have also requested for a fee waiver as a media professional.
