Highland ranked 284th in state for resident earnings in 2017

Highland ranked 284th among cities in Wisconsin by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Highland residents was an inflation-adjusted $30,392 per year. Highland had 392 households in 2017, with a population of 954.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Lac La Belle. Lac La Belle's median income was $73,295 per year after adjusting for inflation – $42,903 more than Highland. It had 103 households in 2017 and a population of 268.

Whitewater had the lowest annual resident income among cities in Wisconsin, with a median income of only $9,012 per year. That was $21,380 less than the median income in Highland at the time. Whitewater had 4,609 households in 2017 and a population of 14,762.
