Graduates earn 1,810 degrees, certificates from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville

About 26.6 percent of the 1,810 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 2017-18 were to students in engineering programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Platteville conferred 439 bachelor's degrees and 39 master's degrees in engineering programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Data shows the school gave out 192 bachelor's degrees in mechanical engineering, followed by 173 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management and 157 bachelor's degrees in manufacturing engineering technology/technician.

The university enrolled 8,955 students for 2017-18, including 8,123 in undergraduate programs and 832 in graduate programs.
