A magical holiday experience in Baraboo

16

Baraboo Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Nov. 10

Escape the frenzied crowds and enjoy a magical holiday shopping experience this Christmas in Baraboo.

Every Saturday you can enjoy a visit with Santa Claus and take a horse-drawn wagon ride around the Rockwellian downtown square. Be sure to check out Downtown Baraboo‘s eclectic array of specialty shops delivering distinctive gifts.

Holiday events start with the Winter Wine Walk on Friday, Nov. 19, following the next evening by the Christmas Light Parade. Local merchants and community organizations will pull illuminated floats through the downtown streets, followed by St. Nick himself, who will light a Christmas tree atop the Al. Ringling Theatre marquee! The theatre will present a free showing of “The Year Without Santa Claus” after the parade.

Stop in anytime to try out the latest toys at Just Imagine. Find repurposed home holiday decor at Countryside Refind. Pick up a gift card at Spa Serenity. Stop for a sweet treat at Tin Roof Dairy, or a beverage at Con Amici Wine Bar, Driftless Glen Distillery or Al. Ringling Brewing. It’s all part of the charm of an old-fashioned holiday experience in Baraboo.

Great gifts await beyond the downtown square: In West Baraboo, Blooms Unfold specializes in floral arrangements and decor, while Wild Bird Barn offers that something special for the four-legged family members on your list.

If national brands are what you’re after, the Baraboo Area has you covered. Walmart has toys for kids of all ages, of course, and Farm & Fleet has plenty in store for the do-it-yourselfers on your shopping list.

Baraboo Young Professionals

Night Market

Holiday events are sure to put you in a festive mood. If you’re hunting for unique gifts crafted by local artisans, be sure to visit the Very Merry Holiday Fair on December 10 and 11 at Baraboo Arts Center. That same weekend, Glow at the Glen promises Christmas cheer at picturesque Durward’s Glen.

The Baraboo Young Professionals are bringing their popular Night Market back to the downtown streets December 17, presenting live music, warm beverages and vendor booths. This event makes for a great date night!

There’s fun for families, too: Don’t forget all the holiday movies at the theatre – from “Home Alone” (Dec. 3) to “Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch” (Dec. 18) to “It’s a Wonderful Life” (Dec. 22) to “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (Dec. 23).

Unique treasures, heart-warming holiday traditions and entertaining events: It’s all part of the magic of Christmas in the Baraboo Area. Find it all at baraboo.com.
