Standing in front of the Wisconsin State Capitol Christmas Tree, which stands at an impressive 30 feet tall, Senator Ballweg highlighted its significance. The tree, originally planted as a memorial to Frank Magnus, a World War II Army veteran, dairy farmer, and local elected official, is adorned with thousands of lights and ornaments handmade by schoolchildren from across the state. Notably, several ornaments were created by children from the 14th Senate District.
The 2023 Wisconsin State Capitol Christmas Tree was officially lit on December 1, with this year's theme celebrating 175 years of Wisconsin Statehood. The decorations on the tree reflect the creativity and talent of Wisconsin's young students.
Senator Ballweg also took the opportunity to share her personal plans for the holiday season: "I am excited to be spending time with my family this holiday season, so from my family to yours, have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"
In addition to spreading Christmas cheer, Senator Ballweg's office announced their holiday hours, with the last e-update of the year being sent on December 21. Regular weekly e-updates will resume on January 4, 2024.
