FOIA Request to Juneau County Regarding Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Logs on October 7, 2024. As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at SW Wisconsin News have submitted a request for records under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq.
Our request is specifically for a list of FOIA logs sent to Juneau County from January 1, 2024, till October 7, 2024. The fields we are interested in include the requester's name and organization, the content and date of the request, the date when the request was completed, and the status of the FOIA.
As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
