FOIA Request Sent to Iowa County Sheriff's Department Regarding Arrest Records on October 22, 2024

A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the Iowa County Sheriff's Department on October 22, 2024. The request was made by us at SW Wisconsin News, a media organization committed to comprehensive and accurate news coverage of local governmental affairs.

The request, made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., sought all arrest records from January 1, 2024, to the present day. The specific data points requested in these records include:

- Arrestee name

- Arrestee sex

- Arrestee race

- Arrestee age

- Arrestee Date of Birth (DOB)

- Arrestee Citizenship

- Booking ID

- Date of arrest

- Booking photo

- Name(s) of arresting officer(s)

- Type of Crime

- Location of crime

- Date of crime
