FOIA Request to Town of Bloom Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.

We at SW Wisconsin News, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, have sent an official request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered to vote on November 5, 2024.

As a media organization, we are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.

The request was made in an effort to ensure transparency and accountability during the election process. The data will provide valuable insights into voter participation rates and potentially highlight any irregularities or issues that may have occurred during registration.

We await a positive response from the Town of Bloom and remain committed to delivering factual and timely reports about local government affairs.
