Upland Hills Health has been acknowledged for the second consecutive year as one of the quietest hospitals in the United States based on patient experience. Becker’s Hospital Review has again listed Upland Hills Health among hospitals nationwide that have received a five-star quietness rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). This ranking is derived from CMS' Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, which assesses patients’ perceptions of their care during recent hospital stays.
Lisa Schnedler, President and CEO of Upland Hills Health, expressed her satisfaction with the recognition: “Our back-to-back recognition is a powerful affirmation of the healing environment our team works hard to maintain. Rest is essential to recovery, and our staff makes that a priority.”
The latest survey data pertains to patient experiences between July 2023 and June 2024. Hospitals receiving top ratings for quietness were those where patients consistently reported calm and restful nighttime environments.
Research conducted by the National Institutes of Health underscores the significance of a quiet hospital stay, highlighting improved rest and quicker healing as benefits of reduced noise levels.
