There were 2,658 students enrolled in Lafayette County schools in the 2024-25 school year, the same number as the previous school year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Data also showed that white students comprised 81.1% of the student body in Lafayette County schools—the largest share—followed by Hispanic students at 17.2%, multiracial students at 1.4%, and American Indian students at 0.2%.

Darlington Elementary/Middle School had the highest enrollment among Lafayette County’s 17 schools in the 2024-25 school year, welcoming 636 students.

Wisconsin ranked 29th in the U.S. for student-to-teacher ratio at 14:1, according to a study by AAA State of Play.
