State Senator Joan Ballweg announced today that seven bills supporting the 14th Senate District have been signed into law. Expressing her gratitude, Senator Ballweg stated, "Many of the bills signed today came from ideas in the 14th Senate District and will support our communities, business and local governments. It is an honor to have these bills signed."

Among the bills signed into law are Senate Bill 67, which defines the decommissioning process for power plants, Senate Bill 363 supporting the metal casting industry, Senate Bill 431 updating dairy hauling regulations, Senate Bill 451 providing flexibility for premier resort tax revenue, Senate Bill 738 cleaning up various statutes, Senate Bill 810 creating a grant fund for major events, and Senate Bill 898 allowing remote witnessing and notarization for certain estate planning documents.

Governor Evers signed these bills at the state Capitol, with each bill taking effect in accordance with the specific legislation. Senator Ballweg still has several bills awaiting the governor's final action.

In addition to the legislative updates, high school seniors with exceptional leadership skills in the 14th Senate District are reminded to apply for the 20th Annual Joan Ballweg Leadership Scholarship. The deadline for applications is Friday, March 29, 2024.

Furthermore, hunting and fishing licenses for the 2024 – 2025 seasons are now available for purchase. Senator Ballweg encourages outdoor enthusiasts to prepare for the upcoming spring bass fishing and turkey hunting opportunities by obtaining the necessary licenses and stamps either online through the Go Wild account or at various license sales locations around the state.

For those interested in attending local events, there are upcoming activities such as a Book Tasting in Portage, Trivia Night in New London and Green Lake, a Free Movie in Adams, and an Euchre Club gathering in Portage.

Senator Ballweg concluded her announcement by inviting constituents to follow her on social media and visit her website for the latest updates on her work in Madison.
