FOIA Request to Village of Arena Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local government affairs, we at SW Wisconsin News have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Village of Arena. The request, sent on November 7, 2024, seeks information regarding new voter registrations that took place on November 5, 2024.
The Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., permits us to access these public records. We believe this information is vital for providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage to our readership. As we continue to hold public institutions accountable and ensure transparency in governmental affairs, access to such records is essential.
We requested the data preferably in electronic format for ease of analysis and reporting. Given our role as a media organization involved in gathering and disseminating news to the public, we have also asked for a fee waiver.
