FOIA Request to Town Of Clearfield Regarding New Voter Registrations on November 7, 2024.
We at SW Wisconsin News have officially submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for a list of new voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024. As a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we believe that access to public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities.
This information will allow us to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public. We have requested these records preferably in electronic format for ease of access and dissemination.
As members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as media professionals. We firmly believe that our role in disseminating information makes us eligible for such waivers.
We await a positive response from the Town Of Clearfield and remain open for any questions or clarifications they may need regarding our request.
