Upland Hills Health has announced the appointment of Jay Goninen to its Board of Trustees. Goninen, a business owner and expert in the automotive industry, hails from southwest Wisconsin.
He is the co-founder and president of WrenchWay, a platform aimed at improving technician careers and addressing challenges within the automotive and diesel sectors. His roots in the community and the car industry are strong; he began working at his family's independent repair shop, Dan’s Auto Centre in Mineral Point, at nine years old. Over time, he assumed ownership of the company and gained experience in various roles from technician to management.
Goninen also hosts "Beyond the Wrench," a podcast that discusses industry trends, shares insights from experts, and engages with thought leaders to foster positive change in the field.
“I’m deeply honored to step into this new role with Upland Hills Health, a hospital that has been a part of my family’s life since I was a child,” said Goninen. “This is the place I trust with my own family’s healthcare, and now I have the privilege of contributing to its future. I look forward to bringing my business acumen and unique perspective to the conversation around enhancing the health and well-being of our community.”
Lisa Schnedler, President and CEO of Upland Hills Health, expressed enthusiasm about Goninen's appointment: “We are thrilled to welcome Jay Goninen to our Board of Trustees. His passion for service, combined with his strong leadership and community-minded approach, aligns perfectly with our mission to provide exceptional care. Jay’s deep connection to our region and his business experience will aid us in continuing to advance the health and well-being of our patients and neighbors.”
With Goninen's addition, Upland Hills Health's Board of Trustees now consists of 11 members.
The organization remains committed to ensuring safety and providing high-quality experiences for every patient across its clinics, hospital facilities, nursing center, rehab center, medical equipment store or through Home Care or Hospice services.
