Upland Hills Health has announced that its employees have collectively donated over $6,000 to communities in southwest Wisconsin. This initiative was part of the hospital's 50th-anniversary celebrations.

The hospital encouraged its staff to contribute to causes important to them within their communities throughout the year. Upland Hills Health reimbursed each participating employee for their donations. A total of 120 employees from various towns, including Dodgeville, Mount Horeb, Barneveld, Cobb, Montfort, and Highland, participated in this effort. The donations supported school districts, food pantries, fire departments, and other local causes.

"Our 50th year is the perfect time to show our appreciation to members of our communities for trusting us with their health and wellness and to honor the commitment our employees have made to provide compassionate and expert care to every patient, every time," said Upland Hills Health President and CEO Lisa Schnedler. "Upland Hills Health has expanded over the years and the number of employees and providers has grown, but we remain at our core a community hospital dedicated to putting the needs of our patients first."

The hospital marks its 50th anniversary as a tribute to the merger of General Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital in 1974, which resulted in Memorial Hospital of Iowa County. This merger facilitated advancements in technology, staff expansion, and new services. In 2001, it was renamed Upland Hills Health.

Currently, Upland Hills Health operates as an independent health system with more than 35 providers and 30 specialists among its over 600 employees. They serve across seven clinics in Iowa and Dane counties and offer essential services such as hospice care, medical equipment provision, therapy, and home care.

"We are committed to providing the safest and best possible experience for every patient that enters our clinics," affirmed Schnedler.
