Richland Hospital welcomes first baby of 2025

Richland Center, WI – The Richland Hospital and Clinics welcomed its first baby of 2025 on January 2. Baby Harlee was born before sunrise, weighing 5 lbs., 14 ounces, and measuring 19 inches. Dr. Wright led the birth center team during the delivery. Parents Tianna and Nathan were presented with a gift basket valued at over $550, filled with contributions from local businesses.

The sponsors for the gift basket included The Richland Hospital Foundation, The Richland Hospital and Clinics, Partners of The Richland Hospital, Bailey’s Paint and Decorating, Brewer Library, Capital Wealth Advisory Group, DeAnne’s Designs, Dunkin Donuts, Jones Chevrolet, Kelly’s Coffee, Klingaman Heating and Cooling, Kwik Trip, Lions for Kids Christmas, Papa Murphy’s Pizza, Pizza Hut, Richland County Bank, Symons Recreation Complex, Verizon, Walsh’s Ace Hardware, and WCCU Credit Union.

In 2024, TRHC's Joan Woodman McCollum Birth Center saw the arrival of 158 newborns. April recorded the highest number of deliveries that year with October close behind. The heaviest baby born in 2024 weighed 10 pounds and 7 ounces while the lightest was just 4 pounds and 3 ounces.

The birth center staff also released a list of top baby names for the year. For boys: Silas, Luke, Ryker, John, and Luka were popular. For girls: Violet, Hazel, Stella, Lily Vivian,and Wren topped the list.

The Richland Hospital and Clinics is recognized nationally as a healthcare facility committed to caring for residents in greater Richland County area for a century. TRHC operates three locations including rural health clinics in Spring Green and Muscoda along with a critical access hospital in Richland Center.
