Community heart health grant funds have been awarded to The Richland Hospital and Clinics (TRHC) in Richland Center, Wisconsin. These funds are being used to benefit local schools and the community in various ways.

Heather Thome, TRHC Clinic Coordinator, explained that the grant has facilitated community education and the purchase of blood pressure cuffs for both clinic providers and patients. Additionally, TRHC has conducted data collection and evaluation on patient care for those with heart conditions throughout their facility.

Following an assessment of needs within the TRHC service area, Riverdale and Ithaca School Districts received donations of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Each district was provided with three AEDs along with wall cabinets, carrying bags, signage, and one AED trainer. The presentation was attended by students, administrators, and safety committee members.

The Richland Hospital and Clinics is recognized nationally as a healthcare facility committed to caring for its community through education and healing. For 100 years, it has served residents of greater Richland County. It operates an independent medical practice across three locations including rural health clinics in Spring Green and Muscoda as well as a critical access hospital at its primary location in Richland Center.
