Ken Nelson has been appointed Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at The Richland Hospital and Clinics (TRHC), according to an announcement from the organization’s executive management team. Nelson began his duties on July 28.
CEO Bruce Roesler commented on Nelson’s introduction to the staff, stating, “Members of the staff were immediately impressed upon meeting Ken.” Roesler noted that employees had an opportunity to meet Nelson and ask questions during the interview process. He added, “Despite his lofty credentials and executive experience, he proved to be both approachable and relatable. As a former nursing instructor, he will bring a focus to staff development as well.”
Nelson previously served as Chief Nursing Officer for several facilities within Hospital Sisters Health System in Green Bay. His earlier roles include Administrative Director of Med/Surg Services at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison and Stem Cell Transplant Unit Manager at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee.
“It’s a privilege to now serve at The Richland Hospital and Clinics,” said Nelson. “I grew up in a small town in Northern Wisconsin, so I know the importance rural hospitals and clinics have in the community, for both residents in all ages and stages of life, and the employees who work here,” he continued.
The Richland Hospital and Clinics has provided health care services for more than a century throughout greater Richland County. The organization operates three locations: its main health center with critical care services, pharmacy, and clinic in Richland Center; as well as rural health clinics in Muscoda and Spring Green.
