DOWNERS GROVE, ILL. – The Foundation for the Restoration of America (FFROA) awarded a $5,000 scholarship to University of Wisconsin-Platteville student Laurel Lehn following her completion of the Constitutional Studies Scholarship Program.
Lehn is from Hokah, Minnesota and is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Business. After taking the free courses in the Constitutional Studies Scholarship Program provided through Hillsdale College, she reflected on the necessity of proper education surrounding these founding ideals for the future of the nation.
“To restore liberty, we must establish ethical education and uphold the Bill of Rights,” she said. “By improving the ethical understanding of myself and the people around me and voting for good political candidates, I hope to preserve and promote our Constitutional freedoms.”
The Foundation’s Executive Director shared that the goal of the Constitutional Studies Scholarship Program was to examine the ideals of the American Founding in a way many young Americans haven’t heard before.
“If our country’s young people have no awareness of the principles that made us great in the first place, we’ll have a difficult time holding on to our republic,” the Foundation’s Executive Director Christine Altenberger said. “Laurel and other bright students like her have become a beacon of hope for our future. We’re excited to reward her hard work with a scholarship towards her education.”
