A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Village of Mount Hope, Wisconsin, regarding new voter registrations on November 7, 2024. The request specifically asked for a list of voters who registered on Election Day, November 5, 2024.
The request was made by SW Wisconsin News, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. We believe in the importance of transparency and accountability in public institutions and utilize public records to fulfill our professional responsibilities.
In our role as a media organization disseminating information to the public, we requested that any associated fees be waived. We are waiting for a response from the Village of Mount Hope and will continue to report on this matter as more information becomes available.
