There were 1,827 students enrolled in Crawford County schools in the 2024-25 school year, 2.2% less than the previous school year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Data also showed that white students comprised 92% of the student body in Crawford County schools—the largest share—followed by multiracial students at 3.1%, Hispanic students at 2.6%, and Black students at 1.1%.

Prairie du Chien High School had the highest enrollment among Crawford County’s 15 schools in the 2024-25 school year, welcoming 287 students.

Wisconsin ranked 29th in the U.S. for student-to-teacher ratio at 14:1, according to a study by AAA State of Play.
